Points, levels and ranking

How a member levels up, and what to unlock at each level.

Members earn points by taking part: posting, commenting, getting likes, finishing a lesson, showing up to a live.

Accumulated points become levels, and levels appear in the Ranking and next to the person's name in the feed.

Configuring

Under Grow → Levels you set how many points each level requires and what each is called.

Gating content by level

A course or lesson can require a minimum level. It gives people a path: take part, level up, unlock.

Use sparingly. Locking the main content behind a level turns the community into a game that the person who paid didn't ask to play. The best use is unlocking extras, not what they bought.

The ranking

It shows who took part the most. It motivates the top five and is irrelevant to everyone else — what usually works better is recognising people publicly in the feed, not just leaving the table there.
