The feed: posting, commenting and highlighting

How to publish, what each post type does, and what to pin at the top.

The feed is the community's home page and where the conversation happens.

Publishing

The composer sits at the top. A post accepts:

  • text with bold and links;
  • image and video;
  • a poll with options members vote on;
  • a file attachment.

Pinning

Every post has a menu (⋯). Pin keeps it at the top of the feed for everyone. Use it for the rules, the announcement of the week, and whatever you want a newcomer to read first.

Pin sparingly: with four pinned posts, nobody reads any of them.

Comments

Replies sit under the post. Replying early is what retains new members most — someone who posts for the first time and gets no reply usually doesn't post again.

The panel helps: on Overview, the "What to do now" card shows how many posts have no reply at all.

Hiding and removing

As owner or moderator, the post menu (⋯) has Hide. The post leaves the feed and moves to the Hidden tab, which only the team sees — nothing is permanently deleted, so it's reversible.
